Robert and Sarah Aberg have been collaborating on music and family life since they first met in 1977 in Austin, Texas. They moved to Dallas and began performing as a duo after listening to recordings of Ellas Fitzgerald and Joe Pass. Robert’s passion for jazz and blues and Sarah’s love for singing a story kept them involved in the local music scene while raising two children and developing careers in clinical psychology and social work.

Robert has had the great fortune of playing with a number of Texas jazz greats: the legendary tenors, James Clay and Marchel Ivery; saxophonist and flutist Alex Coke and pianist Rich Harney in Austin and bassists James Gilyard, Buddy Mohmed and Stone Savage, drummer Ted Wasser, pianist Steve Sunday, and vibraphonist Ed Smith in Dallas. James and Ted are charter members of the Robert Aberg Trio featured on Robert's debut CD “Degrees of Freedom” in 1998. It includes a number of Robert’s original compositions.
Sarah grew up singing in Episcopal church choirs and has a deep love for opera. She is known for her intimate style and musical authenticity. Robert and Sarah began performing as a duo after listening to recordings of Ellas Fitzgerald and Joe Pass. Sarah released her debut CD “Love Notes” in 2015. It features 11 original compositions co-written with her husband and recorded with Buddy Mohmed on bass and Dana Sudborough on percussion.
